What We Do

Raising Awareness
Going to the beach is exciting and sometimes a lifelong dream. Our children, the elderly and the many people with health issues shouldn't have to be subjected to secondhand smoke blowing on the beaches.
Cigarette butts are the number one trash item collected during beach cleanups. They also contain micro plastics which are ingested by sea life.
We need to make people aware of the importance of preserving our environment and our lungs.

Building A Community
As a community, we band together to clean our beaches, parks, streets, and neighborhoods.
Our children love playing in the sand and sea. We need to unite and protect them from cigarette butts and other pollution littering our beaches.
Marine life and the creatures who live at the beach depend on clean sand and water.
What Can You Do?
-
Tell your County Commissioners or City Officials that you want to vote to ban smoking at our beaches.
-
Bring a trash bag to the beach.
-
Check to make sure nothing is left behind.
-
Teach children cleaning up after themselves protects our beaches and the environment.
-
If you see trash, pick it up and throw it away.
-
For over 35 years, International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) coordinates a worldwide beach cleanup day. Use that day to volunteer to clean up our beaches.
-
Get some fresh air and participate on local beach clean up days or on Earth Day.
